The manual presents a modern understanding of environmental damage assessment caused by environmental impacts, the main directions for assessing environmental damage in projects, including a general description and assessment of the economic efficiency of projects, an analytical review of domestic and international approaches to the assessment of environmental damage. The manual is aimed at specialists of environmental management bodies in order to introduce modern approaches to the assessment of environmental damage as a result of environmental impacts and can be used as an additional educational material for students of the ecological and economic profile of higher education institutions, as well as in the development of projects and programs for social and economic development subjects of the Russian Federation in terms of reflecting the ecological-economic and resource component.
