Monetary Assessment of Ecosystem Services: a Training Manual

The training manual* includes approaches to the monetary assessment of ecosystem services in the context of their use in managing biodiversity conservation - an extremely important issue at the present time, since the conservation of biological diversity is one of the main principles of environmental protection in the Russian Federation and the most important objective of environmental management at all levels of territorial organization. The purpose of this manual is effective distribution of the experience in ecosystem services assessment, as well as the choice based on the results of specific mechanisms for the conservation of biodiversity. A number of practical examples illustrate the main procedures for monetary assessment and incorporation of their results in management to address existing problems of environmental management. These problems are both local and regional, which is reflected in the structure of the book. The manual is of interest to bachelors and masters, as well as all those interested in these issues.
