The organizers of the conference were Rosstat in collaboration with the Russian Economic University named after Plekhanov. Among the participants there were Representatives of the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation, specialists of federal executive bodies, representatives of international organizations and national statistical services, members of the Scientific and Methodological Council of the Federal State Statistics Service, members of the Public Council at the Federal State Statistics Service, representatives of scientific organizations, universities, non-governmental organizations, business community. The Program of the Conference included current problems of monitoring, analysis and control of sustainable development at all levels from local to international, as in this context the development of statistical capacity is one of the priority issues of the global statistical system. The discussion at the conference touched upon the issues of creating and developing a system of global indicators for monitoring sustainable development goals, the role of international organizations in improving statistical capacity, and problems of monitoring the indicators of sustainable development goals at the national and subnational levels. Representatives of Resources and Consulting made a presentation "Natural Resource Indicators: Importance for the SDGs and Possibilities of Application" within the Session 5: Monitoring of Sustainable Development Goals: The view of the expert community.
