Development of environmental aspects within corporate non-financial reporting

Proposals for the development of environmental aspects within corporate non-financial reporting were prepared for a group of enterprises manufacturing mineral fertilizers. The development of environmental indicators within corporate non-financial reporting was carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Global Reporting Initiative. The environmental aspects within the reporting are necessary for:

  •    comparing and evaluating the effectiveness of the enterprise in ensuring compliance with established regulatory requirements in the field of environmental safety and the sustainable use of natural resources;

  • showing the environmental aspects of the enterprise’s activities to interested parties (government, the public, investors, international organizations, etc.);

  • assessing and comparing the results of environmental safety activities over time (retrospective analysis and long-term planning) for the whole enterprise and for individual production units as the basis for environmental risk management;

  • determining strategic and tactical goals, making effective management decisions, monitoring and evaluating the results achieved to reduce environmental risks.

The developed materials include:

— the principles of the development of the environmental aspects of corporate non-financial reporting for a group of enterprises manufacturing mineral fertilizers,

— relevant indicators within corporate non-financial reporting;

— passports of environmental indicators of non-financial reporting of enterprises;

— proposals on the development of an environmental aspects of corporate non-financial reporting on the production of mineral fertilizers.

The developed materials within corporate non-financial reporting has enabled the company to convince interested parties that information on economic, social and environmental performance is sufficient and corresponding with the principles of sustainable development reporting. The use of the prepared indicators makes it possible not only to assess the current situation, but also to determine strategic and tactical goals, allocate responsibility, develop effective management decisions and track the process of achieving results.
